My very first Great Dane 1974 @ 8 weeks ( I was 14 ), "Dutchess Faline Raber" given that name by My Aunt Emily who is dearly missed.
My Dad had finaly retired from the Air Force in 1973 and My sights were set on having a Dog !
Dutchess is pictured with the Family Poodle " Pierre"...how original My parents were !
I always wanted a Dane....Xmas List was asked of us Kids and I wanted a Great Dane and nothing else.." or don't bother " i said
well.............. Xmas 1973 came and I had nothing ! becareful what You ask for ...lol
however.....a few weeks into 1974 the new year....as I sat in the downstairs RecRoom..in trotted this little Puppy !
GAME OVER ! , lol
after that..i had the POWER and a Great Dane .
I believe she came from "Shipely Danes" in Phila.
After that I went to Work for Bobbie Fowler of Hound Fame "Wiener Dogs everywhere " !
He and His wIfe Jane introduced Me to the Show Dog World !
